Capturing Transience, a solo painting exhibition by Victoria Ross
"The death of my father almost two years ago, brought a period of pause and reassessing in my studio practice and lead, ultimately, to a more pared down, expressive way of working. The exhibition is a record of that journey, from realistic work to my most recent series of paintings. These are an exploration of my connection to old family photos, in this case, the photos from my grandparent’s wedding day. The wedding party - the best man, flower girl etc are unknown to me, their identities lost to time. The work explores the desire to connect with the people from our past and the impossibility of doing that.”
Malcom Barron Photography
Malcolm Barron presents a series of photographs, taken during a number of photography expeditions in the Isles of Harris and Lewis, the Isle of Skye, Dorset, The Lake District, Pembrokeshire, and much further afield…
