CAMILLE ARCHER - Of Love and Freedom

  • Glisk 115 High Street Burntisland, Scotland, KY3 9AA United Kingdom (map)

This exhibition is a collection of magic realism paintings, a culmination of several long-standing themes in Camille Archer’s artwork. The paintings follow in the traditions of Persian and Mughal miniature painting, using mixed media watercolour, ink and gouache.  Although the artworks are made using Persian miniature painting techniques, the imagery within the exhibition reflect a personal journey of exploring themes of relationship.

The work explores art as an avenue to wider perceptions and to relationship: how people relate to each other, animals, plants and Camille’s concepts of the invisible, spiritual world.

The artworks often depict animals that are symbolic of freedom, endurance and subtlety, accompanied by other paintings based on hidden geometries and symbolic of beings that are said to be beyond ordinary human perception.  This is Camille’s first solo exhibition.

Camille is giving an artist’s talk about her work on Saturday 14th December, 5-6pm. If you’d like to come along please book for free on eventbrite as space is limited.
